Summer at Wakaranai Lodge

Summer at Wakaranai Lodge is a season for stillness, craft, and curiosity.

During the warmer months, the Lodge opens for small retreats and gatherings, time away from screens, noise, and routine. Summer here is slower and softer, shaped by the land, the weather, and the people who come to spend time together.

This is not a season of momentum.

It's a season of presence.

Summer at the Lodge

As winter fades, everything relaxes.

The grass creeps up, the dragonflies come out, and the Lodge shifts into a quieter rhythm. Days are longer. Evenings stretch. Time feels less measured.

Summer at Wakaranai is not about schedules or productivity. It's about being in a place long enough to notice what changes, in the environment, in conversation, and in yourself.

Our summer retreats follow the pace of the season:

time for stillness, time for craft, and time for not knowing.

Retreats & Summer Gatherings

During summer, Wakaranai Lodge hosts a small number of intentional retreats and gatherings.

These are not high-volume programs or back-to-back events. Each retreat is designed as a shared experience, living together for a while, eating together, moving together, and spending time outside.

The emphasis is on:

  • connection without performance
  • creativity without pressure
  • reflection without agenda

Retreats are one expression of summer at Wakaranai, shaped by the season and the people who come.

Upcoming Retreats, Summer 2026

Each summer retreat at Wakaranai has its own focus and rhythm, while sharing the same underlying values: presence, care, and shared time.

Details for upcoming retreats can be found below.

Individual retreat pages include full descriptions, dates, and practical information.

As summer at Wakaranai continues to evolve, this space may also open to other seasonal gatherings, workshops, or creative residencies, always in alignment with the pace and spirit of the place.
