Today was a productive day. It was a wake up and go sort of day, and we had lots to get done. it started a lil rough, I saw a new crack delam on the sink, so I had to chip out a section, real quickcrete it, then I got to move on with my day.
We were putting up the plywood wall, which will be the backing for the cork wall. Akira came over around lunch time, and he helped out with that. After that we started putting the ply up in the stairs. We are cutting it like a wave, to butt up perfectly to our shikkui. It is looking sweet.
Believe it or not, these two projects ate up about 4 hours of the work day, and drained a bunch of energy, but we got there.
After dinner, I worked on the sink again, putting in a lime/sand layer over the earlier quickcrete. Then I spent about an hour, smoothing out the sink with a sponge, and getting it ready, fingers crossed, for tadelakt tomorrow. its my birthday tomorrow, and we are having a bunch of people over, and I have to cook a bunch of food, but hopefully I can get the tadelakt going in the morning, and yeah, we will seee.
