the town comes together to solve a problem

town crew dismantling the collapsed structure next to the lodge

today was a big day. The structure next to the house was finially removed, and damn that was satisfying. At the peak, there were 13 people involved, and many hands made light work. We salvaged a bunch of the wood that wasn't rotten and I am excited to sand them down, and see what lies inside. We were also able to dump a bunch of trash that the previous owners had left on site, so all in all a highly successful day in returning a bunch of usable space back to us, and wrapping up some things on our todo list. We also met the Shimukappu property manager, and he is the one responsible for deciding how much land we can rent from the town. We also met the Shimukappu subsidy manager, and he seems keen to help us get startup subsidy funding.

Living in a small town is funny, because the whole town hall office was emptied out to come tackle this project today. What other place works like that, where you have a bunch of office guys getting their hands dirty, and working hard to get a mess cleaned up.

Tomorrow we have our final fire inspection, and they want things, more or less in "operational" shape, so we have a bunch of cleaning tomorrow, to make things look more ready than they actually are. Once that is done, we are green lit for visa renewal, and can finially check that off and move past it.

have a great day n wakaranai
