Today was the town party. Every spring, the whole town gets together for a trash clean up, and then barbeque after, and this being our first year in town, was our first town party. It was great to finially see/meet most everyone after a long winter of people being busy, inside, or bundled up, and we met a lot of cool new people. This is a small but vibrant little community, and I am happy to be here and be part. Abe-san, who is idk, seems like the town guy. He works in the town hall, and speaks quite good english, and is just a stoked guy. He is kinda at the center of everything, and has taken a real liking to us, so he was introducing us to people, and got us up infront of everyone, and gave us an introduction, and yeah all around good time. It was a beautiful sunny day, and we had ghengis kang and hormone, which is pig stomach lining. Honestly not my thing, but I ate it and that was it.
We met a super nice sheep farming couple, and are going to check out their farm this week, and there is another young, organic farmer, who lives near us, who we will be checking out his farm. He also does weekly organic produce and egg delivery, so super stoked on that, as well as he organizes a tomamu/minami-furano freeride backcountry ski team, and invited us into that too, so the web is growing here.
The rest of the day, well Denise mostly, worked on stripping more wall paper, from the stairwell on the guest side, getting that prepped for shikkui so we can get that knocked out next week.
