Fire Equipement daijobu?

with flying colors

fire equipment inspection day at the lodge

Today was a windy day, but beautiful and sunny too.

The house shook a little as gusts came through our little valley.

We started off the day with a fire equipment inspection, and tidied the house a bit before hand. its been chaos from rennovating the bathroom, so we wanted to get it a bit in order.

I went out and looked down by the stream for the first time, since the snow has finially melted enough to see whats down there. There is unfortunately a lot of old garbage on the hillside above it, but we should be able to remove most of it, but some stuff is submerged in the mud. There is a bit of work todo to make the space nice, and prevent any standing mosquito water, but it is a dream to have flowing water out back.

The fire inspection went well, and it was a cute old man from Obihiro. He made sure all of our smoke and heat detectors were functioning right, and we passed with flying colors. Our neighbor Yuki-san came over to help translate, and Minamo-chan was running around. We are super lucky to have them here as our neighbors, and we vibe with them well. They have been an endless help.

We then tackled the sink, and got all of the cement board attached to it today, so we can start mortaring tomorrow, and get this thing on da road. We are still waiting on the faucets, and they will show up sometime when we are in Tokyo next week, so we have to work around that, but shogunai.

This whole evening was about computer work, preparing for subsidies, and researching things, and it is all good. We are trying to get a regional tourism revitalization subsidy, and we are trying to get funding for a sauna, a yoga platform, and a pizza oven. So pretty stoked on that, and it would be a big win if we can get this.

All in all, finding our flow. Things are clicking along.

have a great day n wakaranai.
