Jimmy stayed at our place last night, and we brought him to the train this morning, so he could go back to Tokyo for the summer. Kind of a bummer that the resort kicks the employees out of their housing, after their last day, but shogunai.
It gave Denise and I a good reason to get moving earlier, and we got up to the hill to catch a few laps before it got too warm. The snow was suprisingly fast when we showed up, even tho it was already 7 degrees out and super sunny, at like 10am. But we shredded a few laps, felt good to ski around in the sun. Its Friday, and the resort closes on Sunday, so gotta pack in those last couple laps before the long time until next season starts. It was a hell of a good season, even tho everyone from here said it was below average. It will be interesting to see what a good season actually looks like here. Every season is good wit the right mindset, and its about being present, and not getting lost in the fomo.
Since we ran through all our 2x4s yesterday, and need to scoop more before we finish the sink, we transitioned to working on starting to plaster the walls. We got the primer coats up on a couple walls in that room, one using a premix shikkui primer, and the other a diy mix of lime, sand, and natural fiber. Thought to do two test walls, to see what works best, and if we can get away with mixing our own mix in the future since its like 1/10 the price of the premix stuff.
As I was sitting there trowling it up on the wall, i was just super stoked about it all tho. Been watching youtube videos on this for years, and I finially got to do it on my own, on my own wall. Its a crazy thing owning a house finially, and being able to work on it, and do what you want. So I was just stoking there.
Tomorrow, we will start putting the shikkui on the base coats, and that is very exciting.
Denise smashed it tonight with okonomiyaki, banggging.
All in all, a really sick day, and just hype on thangsss.
have a great day n wakaranai.
