Sunlight Reflections

It can't be overstated how good it is to have homies in da house. The silverstep homies are the most top of knotch.

This is a day, that started like a lot of them around here. Sunlight, tea, yoga, french toast. Only the important things in life really.

The Silverstep crew came to Hokkaido to make a movie about peoples relations to skiing/boarding, the mountains and the place they live. They have since transitioned the idea a bit, to really highlight the stories they started unravelling here, and thinking about peoples relation to the place they choose to exist and what that really means.

Hokkaido is an interesting place. I think it is a place for people to find home, the ones that have a hard time finding home where they were supposed to. Yes there are many people here from here as well, but this place is filled with people that left lives in other places, whether they were coming from somewhere in japan, or outside of this. This is a place with open arms and draws those together who are looking for similar things in life.

We had a great day on the mountain collecting a few shots. Taking advantage of the snow that was getting steadily heavier through out the day. There were moments of absolute excellence, and I am excited to see how there film turns out when it is all said and done. It is an incredible thing to take people I really enjoy, into places I really enjoy. I am so looking forward to the future here at Wakaranai Lodge, and the opportunity to connect with people through the place that I have chosen to make my home.

I sit here in the sun, and it is the morning of monday march 23. I couldn't bear to look at my computer screen last night, so the log for yesterday gets made in retrospect. There are some pieces loud in my head last night, that have turned dimmer, but there are thoughts that were crystallized last night, which are clear to me now.

One thought that was had last night, was it is important to create every step of the way, even if it is arguably bad, because everytime you are creating, you are sealing a piece of time into something, and even if the outward manifestation of that is bad, it is still good because it is a piece of you, at that exact moment in time, that now gets to exist, and that is important.

So here we are, me logging my days away, to hold on to a piece of them in time forever.

Another day in Wakaranai. The tea steams behind me, curling through the morning light. Bonobo plays over the speakers, filling the room in a way that perfectly complements the serenity of what exists right outside the window.

Have a great day, n wakaranai.
