Today was one of those days, where you have like plenty to do, but hey its March 20th, and we only have a couple weeks of the season left here in tomamu, and it snowed, idk like 8 cms last night. Time to go make a couple laps, catch whats good on the backside, and call it day, head home n get to work.
It didn't turn out quite the way we planned. We got to the top, 9:45 am, no one skied into the backside yet today, just chilling on the ridge I knew we were in for a sleeper of a day. When that snow gets all drifted up in spots, mmhhhhhmmm good shit.
blue bird, deep pow chilling. No one else out there, first lap cold blower 20 to 30 plus cms, we go for round two, cold blower and only our tracks. round 3. cold blower and only our tracks, round 4, our lifty homie Akira, connected us with a rad snowboarder chick Haru from Asahikawa, that he had shared the lift with, and then we got to shred and make good times out there. Idk how many we ended up skiing, but our couple laps, then head home, turned into a full ski day of non stop shredding.
good for the soul type shit. I just kinda love it when the northfacing is total blower, and when you wrap around to the south, its like beach weather, slushy sunny chilling, back to the lift to go back up and just get in the blower again. One of those days mannnnnn. This place constantly suprises me. Big thankful for that.
Can't really ask for much more in life, but today I was counting my blessings for sure.
Our friend in town, Go-san, got a couple of husky pups, so big chilling in the sunshine with sleeping dogs on the lap for a while before finally heading home.
It wasn't the most "productive" day, but it was what the soul needed to feel right.
big ups to tomamu. this place delivers every time.
have a good day and wakaranai.
